Malaysia’s CCUS projects will result in more emissions released than captured from gas fields: RimbaWatch study
The environmental watchdog published analysis warning that there is a "wide trend" of carbon capture, use and storage initiatives in Malaysia linked to fossil fuel expansion. It is one of 19 organisations backing a memorandum to the Senate calling for a controversial CCUS bill to be stopped.

Singapore seeks experts to work on global framework for cross-border renewable energy certificates
The government has launched a tender, closing 24 March, for a seven-month long study to develop a new framework for cross-border REC transactions. It will seek endorsement from RE100, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and other global bodies.
Labour representatives say that Malaysia’s workers are unprepared for the energy transition, with many prioritising economic issues such as wages over sustainability. A recent report called for a national assessment of workforce readiness, as well as more awareness building and upskilling programmes.
